Glaze Project

In the summer of 2021, LCAC received funding through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and hired 6 individuals to help with various projects. Taylor Daley spent 4 months as our Glaze Technician working under the direction of Jenny Keller, LCAC Studio Coordinator and Technician, to run thousands of tests. The team developed a range of new glazes to fit 9 clay bodies for use by LCAC's 150 studio-users as well as our many students. This presentation explains the extensive process Taylor and Jenny undertook and the many considerations required to produce a wide range of colour choices that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
